Attachment and the Best Self
FROM MARCH 8TH TO APRIL 16TH. REGISTER HERE.
This six-week workshop will provide an introduction to attachment theory and guide you through the series of Best Self visualizations from the Ideal Parent Figure protocol. Developed by Dr. Daniel P. Brown and colleagues at Harvard University, the IPF protocol has been shown to repair even the most disorganized forms of attachment in fifty to one hundred and fifty sessions. One of the most innovative concepts of the Three Pillars and Dr. Brown’s work is that removing a negative doesn’t necessarily create a positive, but the creation of a positive will often replace a negative.
Based on that premise, this workshop will focus on the positive - specifically, the development of our most unique and “best” selves. We will create a basis of secure attachment, connect with our best selves, build a sense of agency and self esteem, and then end on forming a sense of a greater driving purpose to life.
This will be an interactive workshop so our focus will be on the meditations and discussion sections where you can share your experiences and ask questions. The course will consist of:
Weekly two-hour group sessions: Each two-hour session will consist of two guided meditations, ample discussion and Q&A periods, and psychoeducation on the most relevant topics from attachment theory.
Supporting one-hour practice and Q&A sessions: We will also have a one-hour practice session each week with a guided meditation that either reinforces or adds a new development to the current week’s work followed by another Q&A period.
For those unable to attend live or who want repeat viewings, classes will be recorded and made available for viewing for six months after the end of the course.
Evan will be available to respond to your questions via email for the duration of the course.

About Evan Leed
I was authorized to teach on meditation and attachment by George Haas, founder of Mettagroup, with whom I maintain an active mentoring relationship. I also had the fortune to study under the late Dr. Daniel P. Brown for nearly two years in the Ideal Parent Figure Masterclass. I have maintained a daily meditation practice for fifteen years and sat dozens of retreats, dividing my practice equally between Theravadin and Vajrayana traditions. After thousands of hours of developing the Jhanas and working in Mahasi Sayadaw’s Progress of Insight model, I now mainly practice in various Buddhist and Bön Dzogchen lineages.
I specialize in attachment repair using the IPF Protocol and the comprehensive Three Pillars Model developed by Dr. Brown et al. at Harvard University. This approach has been shown to move people from even the most complex attachment styles to earned secure attachment in 50 to 150 sessions. I work with clients at all stages of the healing process, helping them come into security, resolve old wounds and traumas, and experience a deeper sense of meaning in individual pursuits and interpersonal relationships.
